ITO delivers to Norway's greenest logistics building

Motek's customer promise is that customers within a 200 km radius of the logistics center will have their goods delivered on the same day for orders that are received in the morning.

“Faster delivery, more efficient flow of goods, managing strong growth, more sustainable operations. All of this was part of the conditions that led our owner company, Aspelin Ramm, to decide to build a completely new building for logistics, administration, and a professional store,” says Logistics Manager Thomas Randlev.

ITO plays a role in this ambitious project. We have supplied conveyor belts and customized technology for unpacking incoming goods, returning waste cardboard to compactors, elevator solutions between different heights, our own conveyor belt and belt machine for service products, as well as conveyor belts and elevators built specifically for fast orders.

If the item is in stock, a quick order is created that is given top priority when picking, whether it is in Autostore or from the high-bay warehouse, and the item is sent on a separate conveyor belt straight to the store, where it is available before the customer has had time to finish their coffee.

Thomas Randlev emphasizes that Motek has had an excellent collaboration with ITO: "We see that ITO's solutions help us make the most of our investments here.

The construction process has taken two years, with a focus on sustainability. The construction site has been “fossil-free” throughout the entire period. The trucks are electric, employees have access to more EV charging and bicycle parking spaces than regular parking spaces, and transporters' vehicles can be quickly charged while being loaded with goods.

In addition, the roof is a world unto itself, with the country's largest green space on the roof with solar cells, and it will eventually become home to beehives, with the industrial buildings of the future taking responsibility for both carbon capture and pollination.
